Ormolu and blue john ewers by Boulton and Fothergill
1768 - 1778 (c.)
This pair of ormolu and blue john ewers was made by Matthew Boulton and John Fothergill at the Soho Manufactory. The Earl of Sefton paid £14.14.0 for a similar pair in 1772. Few examples of this particular design were made but it is also shown in the firm's Pattern Book 1, page 83.
Purchased with the bequest fund of the late T D F Evans, these ewers are on display at Soho House Museum.
